The seal is not for sale. It is earned by facilities and operators that can demonstrate compliance with the national aesthetic laser safety standards and are independently verified across the four areas that protect patients from harm.
Qualified people
A designated Laser Safety Officer with completed safety training, and device-specific training for everyone who operates a laser or light based device.
Authorized devices
Every device is FDA-cleared for its use, set up and maintained to the manufacturer's specifications.
Real safety controls
Clear protocols for safe procedures, controlled treatment areas, and wavelength and optical density-appropriate eye protection.
Ongoing accountability
Facilities and operators are held to the national aesthetic laser safety standards, monitored for compliance, listed in a public registry, and subject to certification revocation when the standards are not met.

The Authority reviews the application to determine compliance with the Standards, and either grants, conditionally grants, or declines certification.

The American Laser Safety Authority sets the national standard for aesthetic laser and light-based procedure safety in the United States. We establish the safety, training, and operational requirements that define safe practice, publish them as the Laser Safe Certified Standards, and certify the facilities and operators who meet them.
